ASSESSMENT OF SEISMIC VULNERABILITY IN EARTHQUAKE RISK ZONES USING MATHEMATICAL MODELS

        Abstract.  Mathematical education components have penetrated various fields of science, integrating with them and serving as a foundation for their further development. They provide the necessary toolkit for research and analysis, through which the essential properties of given phenomena are expressed in terms of variables, and the relationships between them are represented by mathematical relations. Through the application of mathematical modeling and elements of statistical analysis, objective, precise, and scientifically grounded assessments are obtained in the field under study.

       Mathematical tools are also applied in the assessment of seismic vulnerability. The quantitative evaluation of potential damage makes it possible to predict the degree of seismic vulnerability and to ensure a higher level of public safety in emergency situations.

      Contributing to the study of problems within specialized professional fields mathematical education becomes a necessary prerequisite for effective professional activity.
