Abstract․ Taking into account the escalating threats of information warfare and international crime, the article examines some issues at state governance and local self-government levels related to the protection of national security and the interests of the Republic of Armenia. Particular attention is paid to a range of challenges in the field of journalism that may contribute to the dissemination of state secrets.
The research includes a focused analysis of international practices in the protection of state secrets, as well as the national security strategy and the current legislative framework of the Republic of Armenia. Based on these findings, the author proposes a set of recommendations aimed at improving the national legislation and enhancing practical measures for the protection of state secrets. The expected outcomes include increasing awareness and knowledge among state and local self-government bodies, officials, organizations, legal entities, and, in particular, media representatives, thereby contributing to a more secure and resilient state.
