LANDSCAPE DIVERSITY CAUSED BY DISASTERS AS A NEW CATEGORY OF LANDSCAPES

Abstract. Natural landscapes diversity is determined by the influence and the interaction of various natural and anthropogenic factors. These influences may also result from natural and man-made disasters, leading to the emergence of a new category of landscapes, which can be termed as “disaster-zone landscapes”. The diversity within this category is associated with different types of disasters and can be subdivided into two subcategories: landscapes of natural disaster zones and landscapes of man-made disaster zones.
