CRITICAL THINKING DEVELOPMENT PRECONDITIONS IN THE PROCESS OF TEACHING MATHEMATICS IN NON-PROFESSIONAL FACULTIES OF HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

The article covers the main issues of formation and development of critical thinking in the process of teaching mathematics in non-professional faculties of universities. The main prerequisites for the development of critical thinking skills are as follows: the organization of learning process, the structure of learning materials, the lecturer’s teaching skills and the consideration of students’ individual characteristics. The use of collective teaching method is emphasized, which could contribute to the development of students’ analytical and independent thinking skills.
