The FBI representatives visit to the Educational Complex

     On the 2nd of February the Educational Complex of Police of RA hosted the Deputy Head of regional attaché office of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)  Kevin Orkin, FBI agent Todd Goodson, the representative of regional attaché office Rachelle Mcdermott, project coordinator of INL at the embassy of the USA to Yerevan Maritsa Hovhannisyan.

The guests were met by the Head of the Educational Complex of Police of the Republic of Armenia, police colonel M. Muradyan. Head of the International Cooperation and IT division, police lieutenant-colonel G. Davtyan, deputy head of the same division, police lieutenant colonel K. Safaryan also attended the event.

The purpose of the “Courtesy Visit” was to get acquainted with the structure of the Educational Complex, educational projects, and its peculiarities, as well as with the impressions, suggestions, and further initiatives of Ani Ghukasyan on police education after recently graduating from the FBI National Academy.

The FBI and INL representatives had a cognitive tour around simulation, Forensic science classrooms, PT gym of the Educational Complex, making acquaintance with practical lessons’ methodologies, items, way of conducting. They had also a visit to the Museum of Police of RA, being informed about abundant past of Armenian police.

The event continued at the meeting hall, where Head of the Educational Complex of Police of RA, police colonel Manuk Muradyan expressed his gratitude for the visit and emphasized the importance of cooperation with international partners: “The FBI is one of the partners providing tremendous support to capacity building of the Educational Complex”. In his speech, M. Muradyan added that as a result of the constant improvement of educational projects, educational programs of other state organizations are implemented on the basis of its model.

Deputy Head of regional attaché office of the FBI Kevin Orkin thanked for the warm welcome and mentioned that regional attaché office states its willingness for ongoing cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, inspector of the International Cooperation and IT division, police captain Ani Ghukasyan highly appreciated the leadership staff of the FBI regional attaché office, INL program in Yerevan, the Police of RA, and the Educational Complex of Police of RA for the trust by providing an opportunity to attend such an immense project. She introduced also all kind of suggestions, that would be realized sooner in order to share experience and knowledge gained at the FBINA Session 284.
