International scientific and practical conference

      On the 15th of June, the scientific-practical conference was held on the topic “Criminal-legal, criminal-procedural and criminological problems of combating cybercrime” at the Educational Complex of MIA of the Republic of Armenia.

The Head of the Educational Complex of MIA of RA, PhD, Associate professor, police colonel Manuk Muradyan had an opening speech, emphasizing that the prevention and combating cybercrime is one of the actual issues of the law enforcement system in the modern world. He assured that scientific reports and discussions would contribute to an in-depth study of this problem.

The head of the Rostov Law Institute of MIA of RF, PhD, associate professor, police colonel Dmitry Tishin also welcomed the participants and thanked the conference organizers for addressing such an important topic. The forum, organized by the Educational complex hosted online the participants from the Pan-Russian Research Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of RF, Rostov Law Institute of MIA of RF, Moscow University after V. Ya. Kikot, Oryol Law Institute of MIA of RF, Law Institute of Siberia, Krasnodar University of MIA of RF, Academy of MIA of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Armenia was represented by the Head of the Applied Criminology Research Center of the National Bureau of Expertise of RA, PhD, associate professor Gevorg Israelyan and senior lecturer of the Chair of Criminal Intelligence and Forensic Science of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of RA, police lieutenant colonel Lusine Sardaryan.

The presentations covered issues such as the legal base for combating cybercrime within the CIS member countries, digital technologies used in criminal proceedings, the concept and features of cyber-victimology, drug trafficking in the virtual world and international experience in combating it, fraud by means of modern technologies, investigation methodology of cybercrime, intelligence and other problems.

The reports were accompanied by active discussions and exchange of opinions.

The conference was summed up by the First Deputy Head of the Educational Complex of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, PhD, associate Professor, police colonel Misak Markosyan. He thanked for the productive and detailed reports and discussions, noting that the reports would be published in the scientific journal of the Educational Complex.
