Round table discussion on "Juveniles in the field of justice and protection of their rights"

Round table discussion on

      On the 9th of June, a round table was held, organized by the Chair of Criminal Law and Criminology of the Educational Complex of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia. The topic of the discussion was on "Juveniles’ cases within justice  and the protection of their rights." Head of the Department for the Prevention of Juvenile offences and Domestic violence of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, police colonel Edgar Petrosyan, Deputy Head of the Investigative Department for Combating Human Trafficking, Sexual Inviolability of Minors and Drug Trafficking of the Investigative Committee  of RA Tigran Kirakosyan, Assistant to the General Prosecutor of RA Armen Ghukasyan, , Head of the Department for the Protection of Children's Rights of the Office of the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia Anahit Khachatryan, Head of the Department for Child Protection and Social Protection of the Municipality of Yerevan Lusine Hovhannisyan, Head of Programs of the UN Children's Fund Hayk Khemchyan, Representative of the Committee of the CoE Lanzarote Gayane Hovakimyan, Head of the "World Vision" project Tigran Hovhannisyan, representatives of the Armenian branch of NGO "Project Harmony".

The opening speech was introduced  by the Head of the educational complex, associate professor, police colonel Manuk Muradyan, and the discussion was carried out by the Head of the Academy, associate professor, police colonel Gagik Grigoryan. There were also lecturers and students of the Academy.

Head of the Chair of Criminal Law and Criminology, PhD, associate professor, police lieutenant colonel Hripsime Khachatryan, Lecturer of the same Chair, PhD, associate professor David Tumasyan, Representative of the EU Lanzarote Committee  Gayane Hovakimyan, students of the 3rd year of paid education of the Academy of the Educational Complex of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Diana Grigoryan, Venera Aganikyan, Eva Sindoyan and Elena Abrahamyan, made presentations  on the given issue. Problems were introduced within the issue and suggested appropriate solving.

In the course of an extensive, interesting and meaningful discussion, an agreement was reached to make it continuous and to conduct field research within cooperation.
