Educational Complex launched a series of events entitled “Month of Great Victories” devoted to the 70th anniversary of victory over fascism in the Great Patriotic War and Artsakh heroic battle

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the victory over fascism in the Great Patriotic War, the RoA Police Educational Complex came up with the initiative of organizing a number of events, which were launched on May 4. 

As scheduled, by May 4, students of the Academy, College and Training Center of the Educational Complex visited "Mother Armenia" Military museum. 

 

On May 4, Amatuni Virabyan, Director of National Archives of Armenia, gave a report on "Participation of Armenians in the Great Patriotic War" at the Educational Complex. The speech was followed by the screening of "Fighting path of Tamanyan division" movie. 

At the beginning of the event scheduled for May 5, Police Major General V. Tretyakov, Head of MIA Volgograd Academy of Russia, extended his welcoming speech and celebratory wishes via a video message to the top management and teaching staff of the Educational Complex. The event was also attended by the Police Colonel Anna Timofeeva, First Deputy Head of IMA Volgograd Academy of Russia. She presented the Educational Complex with an artillery shell dating back to the Great Patriotic War time, filled with Staliningrad holy soil. Anna Timofeeva was awarded with a medal "For Strengthening Cooperation" by the order of Lieutenant General V. Gasparyan, Head of the Armenian Police. 

Then the students of the College were on the stage to present a performance dedicated to the great victory and the Artsakh heroic battle. 

The festive events also featured the "What, Where, When" intellectual game, the 8th final game of the festive season, which was held on May 6. The Academy and College teams were competing. The best connoisseur of the winning team of the Academy was awarded the book entitled “Life and death of Monte Melkonyan” signed by Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan (Commandos). The connoisseurs of the two teams were awarded books. On the same day, the results of the previously announced poetry contest devoted to the 70th anniversary of the victory over fascism in the Great Patriotic War, were summarized. The three best pieces of poetry were read out, the authors of which received a sum of money and certificates. 

 

The students of Charentsavan Garzu art school continued the series of the festive events. On May 7, they came up with a Festive Concert in the Educational Complex. 

The festive week ended with the opening ceremony of the Soviet Union Hero title-winning police officers memorial wall, which took place on May 8. The event was attended by the leadership of the Armenian Police and the Educational Complex, the staff of the Educational Complex, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, representatives of the OSCE Office in Yerevan and "Rossotrudnichestvo" and other guests.

The opening speech was made by Lieutenant General H. Varyan, Head of the Police Educational Complex. Afterwards the floor was given to the veterans of the Great Patriotic War and relatives of the police officers who received the title of the Soviet Union hero. Schoolchildren of 32 School of Yerevan attendee the event to pay tribute to the heroes.

The festive day concluded with a sport event organized by the Department of combat, physical and special tactical training of the College.

The management of the Educational Complex visited “Victory” park and laid flowers at the eternal fire of the memorial to the Unknown Soldier in memory of the victims of Great Patriotic War and Artsakh War.
